So now it's time to pause and reflect, gone now are the balmy carefree days
of summer during which we all most likely had a good frolic through the odd
meadow, chewed thoughtfully on a fresh piece of straw, while patting an
animal of some sort, followed by a peaceful stroll down some sort of lane or
grassy path, maybe to end up by a babbling brook or river type perambulation
of water gliding slowly by, upon whence we might kick off our shoes and
wrench our socks away from our tired feet and dip them in the very cooling
very soothing waters in the afternoon, as a bird or the like flits over head
in a exciting way. Later that dusk we may have found our selves sitting in
quiet thought on a deck or patio style of thing that hangs off one side of
the house. We might sit in contemplation slowly sipping on a refreshment
type beverage either of the softer type of fruit based concoction, a malty
brewed ale or a spirituous liquor over a cube or two of ice, we find our
selves deep in peaceful thought while our loved one is preparing a meal and
tending to the offspring, usually at the other end of the dwelling so as not
to disturb your important thoughts and meditations.
Ah but low! The winter has snuck up on us and stolen the summer away. so it
is fitting that a gent may rise to take a new challenge on, he might join
with his fellows and find himself engaging in the great game, pitting his
strength, wit might and endurance against a team of adversaries.
Knowing full well that his family is watching on in absolute awe at the
dynamic style you display around the playing field. After which a rousing
hot shower, a hearty meal and some chilled ales to share with team mate and
foe alike.
So sleep ever restfully and labor vigorously until the great day arrives
when the whistle will shrill in our ears marking the start of another season
for us to rub shoulders with the ghosts of heroes.
For this is the Golden Oldies and we are its champions!!

Third Game
June 12: Korus (Home)
A great bunch of guys and usually some champagne rugby played.
A messagage from the Korus...
We had an excellent day out last Sunday when we played our first away game for the year against the Rolly Rebels at Rolleston. Once again we had a great turnout of players and an even better turnout of supporters which is very much appreciated.
After a shaky start our team settled down and played some excellent rugby and finished off the game with a fine backline move with a try ion the corner.
Our player of the day went to Steve Petrie who was down especially for the game from Nelson. The other award went to Big Willie for impersonating a back !. Other players to shine were Chucky out on the wing where he showed lots of pace and Ayden and Paul up front.
Thanks to the Rolly Rebels for a great game and a very enjoyable after match in the clubrooms.
Second Game
May 1: The Oxford Tournament (Away).
A great day at Oxford on Sunday with two wins and a loss.
Pete Maloney got player of the day, and of course won the beer scull as well.
Kevin Hattrill was dick of the day.
And I beleive the bus trip home was one not to have been missed!!!
First Game
April 10: Sheldon Park v Belfast Bar-Studs (Away).
Always a great game against these lads and always a good feed, thanks again lads!!!
Some free flowing running rugby was to be had, very nice.
Check out these pix and an excellent vid from the day
Thanks to Lance (our eyes on the sideline) for this.
